1. Information We Collect
Account information: when you create an account we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google. Creating an account with an email and password records that you confirmed you are 13 or older; by signing in with Google, a magic link or the iOS app you also confirm you are 13 or older.
Your disc golf profile: things you tell us about your game so the caddy can help — throwing hand, backhand or forehand, how far you throw (overall and by disc type), experience level, the stability you prefer, brands and plastics you like, discs you own (My Discs), flight checks, TechDisc averages, your home course and favorite courses, and your PDGA number if you give it. You can enter these on your profile page or say them to the caddy, which asks you to confirm before anything is saved.
Chat transcripts: when you talk to DiscSquatch, your messages and the caddy's replies are stored as conversations in our database so you can come back to them. A conversation is private to you unless you choose to share it, in which case the shared copy includes the messages as written but removes the raw profile, bag and course data the caddy looked up.
Usage data: we count page views and a small set of product events ourselves (for example that a sign-up or a first caddy conversation happened), in our own database. Each count records the page address you viewed (without any query string), the site that referred you, your campaign tag if you arrived from one of our links, and whether you used light or dark mode on a phone or a desktop — no user, device or session identifier, no cookie, and never the content of what you typed. Your IP address is not stored with these counts; as with our sign-in and other forms, a short-lived abuse-protection record keyed by IP address is kept for up to two days after your last visit. These counts are kept for 90 days. Our hosting provider (Vercel) also collects performance timings through Speed Insights, and our error monitoring (Sentry) receives technical details of failed requests and, when you are signed in, your account's internal ID — never your IP address, email or name.
User-generated content: forum posts, bag setups, disc lists and comments you create are stored in our database and displayed publicly unless marked private.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain your account and player features (profile, favorites, lists, bags, My Discs)
- To give the caddy the context it needs: your profile, bag, courses and the current conversation are sent to our AI provider with each message so its advice fits your game
- To send transactional emails (verification, magic-link login, password reset, newsletter confirmation)
- To process donations and merch purchases via Stripe
- To improve the site based on aggregate usage patterns
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
Anthropic — the AI provider behind DiscSquatch. Your chat messages, the caddy's replies and the profile context described above are sent to Anthropic's API to generate each reply. Anthropic acts as a processor under its Data Processing Addendum (incorporated by section C of its Commercial Terms). Its commercial terms state: "Anthropic may not train models on Customer Content from Services." (Anthropic Commercial Terms of Service, section B (Customer Content), effective June 17, 2025, as read September 25, 2026). We do not send your email address or password to Anthropic.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. Affiliate links to disc retailers (Infinite Discs, OTB Discs, Marshall Street) are tracked by click count only — no personal data is shared with retailers.

- Printful — merchandise fulfillment (receives shipping addresses for orders)
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Google OAuth — optional sign-in method
- Sign in with Apple — optional sign-in method in the iOS app
- Apple Maps (MapKit JS) — course maps
- Vercel — hosting for the site, and Speed Insights performance timings
- Neon — hosting for our database, where your account, profile and conversations are stored
- Sentry — error monitoring; receives technical details of failed requests and, when you are signed in, your account's internal ID so we can find your error if you report a problem. We do not send your IP address, email or name to Sentry.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Account and profile data are kept for as long as your account exists.
Chat transcripts are kept until you delete them. You can delete any conversation from the caddy's sidebar at any time; deleting a conversation also removes any shared copy of it. Deleting your account (Settings → Danger zone) removes your profile, your conversations and everything else tied to the account.
Deleting your account also deletes your forum posts, bags, lists and other content tied to it.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Delete individual conversations, or delete your account and all of its data, from inside the app
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time
7. Children's Privacy
ChainSeeker is not directed at children under 13, and you must be 13 or older to create an account. Creating an account with an email and password records that you confirmed you are 13 or older; by signing in with Google, a magic link or the iOS app you also confirm you are 13 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
